Born and raised in Nebraska, this Los Angeles based film-maker is known for feel-good comedies with a lot of heart. Jonnie won the $50,000 Louisiana Film Prize TWICE, in 2018 and 2016, for his films “Funky Butt” and “The Man from Mars.” His short “Stag,” a rom-com for single people, received several Audience Choice Awards at festivals like The Cleveland International Film Festival and Port Townsend Film Festival. His stories focus on likable protagonists the audience can fall in love with, touching on themes of self-love, family, and the responsibilities of influence. With a passion for choreography, Jonnie infuses dancing into his films whenever he can.
